New Year's Eve Makeup.
New Year’s Eve calls for glitter, fake lashes, and tons of makeup. Here’s the look I created using my new Black Palette by Urban Decay: Base: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Slate Lid: Sabbath by Urban Decay (although it may appear grey/black on the photos above, it really is dark blue…sorry my camera kinda sucks) Crease/Outer Corner: Black Dog by Urban Decay Glitter: Heavy Metal...

Red Lips
To me, red lips are the epitome of class and sophistication. Adding a red lip to muted or neutral makeup will completely transform the look. Red lips are not only meant for holiday parties, but for any classy evening out. Just be sure to bring your lipstick with you in your handbag for touch ups throughout the night, especially if you plan on eating/drinking. I’m...

Urban Decay Black Palette.
This is the latest addition to my Urban Decay palette collection (it’s my 6th one)! I am so in love with the unique jewel tone colors of this palette, not to mention the quality of the shadows. I love to wear bold shades, and I already know I’ll be using this often for dramatic evening looks, including New Year’s Eve. The palette includes six black based shades: Libertine...

Stocking Stuffers!
This year was the first year I had a stocking for Christmas. Shocker…I know. But since my family traveled every Christmas to Florida, my parents didn’t feel the need to put up a tree or stockings. Anyway, I didn’t know what I was missing until I got one this year! Jon was good about filling it with tons of goodies. I found the Urban Decay Black Palette, Makeup Forever HD powder,...

Black Swan for Christmas!
I finally got to see the Black Swan movie, and I loved it! It was a perfect ending to a wonderful Christmas Day. Natalie Portman is officially my favorite actress.

OPI Burlesque Collection
I love tiny things, and nail polishes are no exception. My friend Natalie gave me one of the latest OPI nail polish collection for xmas—in miniature! How cute are these?! These are the first mini OPI polishes I own, and I am loving them. It’s a great way to try the new collection without breaking the bank. I’m wearing Ali’s Big Break; it’s a perfect sparkly color...

Holiday Makeup: Christmas Green
Nothing screams christmas more than the colors green and red. Unfortunately, I do not own a single red eyeshadow (that’s just a weird color to put on your lids) but I do own a bunch of greens. Here’s a bold holiday look for those who like their makeup to make a statement:  Base: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Horse Radish Lid: One Off by Mac, Loaded & Kush by Urban Decay. Top Liner:...

Holiday Makeup: Grey & Silver.
Do you have plans for Christmas Eve? You can’t go wrong with a grey and silver smokey eye for any holiday party. And plus, grey is flattering on any skin tone or eye color.  Base: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese Lid: Silver Ring by Mac & Silver by Bobbi Brown (inner lid) Liner: Blacktrack Fluidline by Mac & Zero by Urban Decay. Mascara: Diorshow by Dior. Lashes: Ardell...

Oh, Christmas Tree.
This will be our first Christmas as a married couple. Jon and I wanted to purchase a tree that would last us many years, without breaking the bank. Initially we were going to buy one from Target, but then we realized how expensive they were. On top of that, our apartment does not have high ceilings and our space is limited. So instead, we decided to purchase a used tree from a thrift store. Jon...

Face Creams.
I am cursed with dry skin. There is absolutely no one to blame but myself. I don’t drink enough water (mistake #1), I eat way too much junkfood (mistake #2), and I live in a dry state  (thank you, California).  My skin’s TLC depends only on the moisturizers it receives. Here are my top three: 1. Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid by Oil of Olay-my favorite all time moisturizer. I have...

Drugs and a Chanel Purse.
What do drugs & Chanel have in common? Let me tell you… According to this article written by CBS Moneywatch, Loma Linda University students graduate with the highest paid jobs. Wait-what about Harvard & Yale? Actually only one Ivy League school is on the top ten college list: Princeton. (it’s #7) I can’t believe my Christian school won first place—that’s...

Tips&Tricks: No More Straight Lashes.
Do you have straight eyelashes? Thanks to my mom and dad, I do too. When I first started getting into makeup I remember feeling very frustrated with them. I would curl them forever, and as soon as I added mascara they would go back to normal. I tried all sorts of “curling” mascaras, and even a heated curler…but nothing kept them curled.  And then I figured it out.  The trick...

Urban Decay 24/7 Jackpot.
Another Urban Decay product? HECK YES! I love the quality of Urban Decay products, and as long as I have a sugar daddy I will continue to get their items. (fyi: “sugar daddy” is my husband and this particular item wasn’t even purchased by him, it was a gift from my sister-in-law) Anyway, I am head over heels in love with these highly pigmented liners. I had purchased a 4...

Dear Santa,
I have been really good this year. Here’s a short (okay maybe not too short) list I have compiled for you: 1. Guilty Fragrance by Gucci. I want, want, want this! I sampled it at Macy’s and I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist for the rest of the day. I know its super expensive, but remember I’ve been a good girl ;) 2. Madden Girl Black Boots. I have these in brown and they...

How I Relieve Stress.
After a hard exam, I like to run home and de-stress myself. Usually that involves catching up on my favorite reality tv shows, going shopping, or taking a long hot shower. However, none of this gives me as much satisfaction as doing my nails. Call me weird, but there’s nothing more exciting to me than changing my nail varnish color.  It is instant gratification! A fresh application of a...
