Wishlist Wednesday
Did you know I got married in an art museum? Jon and I both share an appreciation for modern art. While searching for wall art for our home, the hubby came across this magnificent 7 panel metallic piece by Ash Carl. We are now saving our nickels and dimes to purchase this baby and hang it above our bed.

Nude Lips
The best way to wear a bold eyeshadow look is to pair it with a muted lip. If you want to wear dramatic eye makeup, keep the lips simple. If you want to wear a bold colored lipstick, keep your eyes simple. It’s as easy as that. I love to wear dramatic eye looks, so I always pair it with a toned down lipstick or lip gloss. Nude lipstick/lipgloss is the perfect way to keep your lips looking...

Naked Eyes
I absolutely love my Naked Palette. I find myself using it almost every day. Today I used two neutral shades to come up with this natural look: Base: Urban Decay Primer Potion Lid: Sin (champagne shimmer) Crease: Buck (matte brown) Highlight: Virgin (nude satin) Liner: Blacktrack fluidline by Mac

Craving of the Day: Home Restaurant
During Spring Break, Jon & I visited an old friend in Los Angeles. While we were there we did lots of shopping, dining, and catching up. But the best part of the weekend was Saturday morning when we got introduced to Home, a restaurant highly recommended by Urban Spoon.  It was a chilly morning, but the atmosphere was cozy enough to eat outside. I absolutely loved that place, the food was...

French Affair: Essie's 2011 Spring Collection.
I am absolutely in love with Essie’s new collection, especially the two nude polishes that were launched. I have been on a “perfect nude” search for quite some time now, and I can finally say I have found them:  Topless and Barefoot (right) is described as a barely there soft beige pink that instantly makes you think of spring blossoms. It is a perfect shade to wear to work...

Our Engagement Story...
is really a beautiful one. This past week I was telling the story to some friends and realized how romantic and special the proposal really was. Exactly today, two years ago, my best friend asked me to marry him.  I would love to write all about the amazing proposal on here, but it would make for a really long post. So instead I will provide you with a link to our old wedding website where you...

Must Have: Borghese Professional Brush Set
Thanks to a friend, I exponentially expanded my brush collection this weekend by purchasing this set from Costco.  Wait. Did you say Costco? Yup. I had no idea Costco sold this kind of stuff. When I saw Jasmine’s post I immediately asked her if I could see her set. Once I felt the quality of her brushes I was sold. Ten minutes later we were in Costco standing in the checkout line!  The...

Messenger Bags From Target
Recently purchased these bags from Target. As soon as I saw them, I fell in love. I found them perfect to carry my ipad and lecture notes to class. Although they are affordable at only $35 each, you get what you pay for. The fake leather has a distinct smell, and the quality isn’t the best. Although it has tons of room to hold lots of things, it can begin to look bulky and lose it’s...

All Time Favorites: Lancome
Lancome eyeshadows have always held a special place in my heart. Maybe it’s because they were some of the first high end shadows I ever owned, or simply because they are of amazing quality. Their texture is soft like butter, and super pigmented with exceptional staying power. This brand comes in 2nd (after Urban Decay) in my list, simply because of the quality. Personally, I think they...

Greenstroke
This is the latest addition to my Mac paint pot collection. Greenstroke is a beautiful minty green with hints of silver and teal. Sadly, it was a limited edition item, although you can check your local CCO (cosmetic company outlet) and find it there like I did. Just like all other paint pots, it can be worn by itself, or paired with green/blue based shadows for an overall 3D effect.

lotusmemory-deactivated20110806 asked: Hi Flor,
I have a make up question, I like to wear eye shadow but it seems that it just fades away too fast. I was told by one of the MAC counter people to buy "painterly" (and i did) but I still have the same problem of my eyeshadow fading in just a few hours. Do you have any tips or tricks for me?

Thank you

Goodbye Shine!
Although my skin is mostly on the dry side, I do get oily in certain areas from time to time. Mostly, I have found that my under-eyes begin to get oily towards the end of the day, causing my concealer to crease. I have tried all sorts of different translucent powders to help with the issue, but none compare to Makeup Forever’s HD Microfiber Powder. Unlike most powders, this one is finely...

OPI Texas Collection
A few weeks ago, Sugar Daddy and I were browsing through the nail polish racks at Ulta, and something very particular caught our eye: the word Texas. OPI recently launched it’s Spring/Summer Collection for this year and much to our surprise has modeled it after our favorite state: Texas! My husband was born and raised in the Lone Star State. All of our college spring breaks were spent in...
