Valentine’s Day Makeup

Unlike last year, I decided to do more of a bold makeup look for Valentine’s Day. Instead of using pink as my main eyeshadow color, I incorporated a salmon/coral on the lid and saved the pink for my lips.

Here’s what I used:

  • Inglot Face Primer
  • Makeup Forever HD Foundation
  • Benefit’s Erase Paste Concealer
  • Mac’s Coral Crepe Paint Pot
  • Wet n Wild’s Penny (lid), Nutty (crease), and Sugar eyeshadow (brow bone & inner corner)
  • Mac’s Blacktrack Fluidline Liner
  • Rimmel Eye Kohl Liner in White
  • Ardell Lashes #120
  • Illamasqua lipstick in Resist
  • Milani blush in Luminoso

Apply a coral/orangey base to your lid to make the shadows really stand out. If you don’t have anything similar, use your everyday primer instead. Apply a coral shade (Penny) to your lid and pack the color on to really make it vibrant. Use a brown shade (Nutty) on the crease for more definition. Blend a shimmery white shadow (Sugar) on your brow bone as a highlight and add it to your inner corner/tear duct area.

Using a gel liner (or a black liner of your choice) line the top lashline and create a thin flick in the outer corner. Then trace the outline of your tear duct and lower lashline stopping at about one-third of the way. Apply false lashes and mascara. Line your lower water line with a white pencil to make your eyes appear larger:

Can you believe ALL of the eyeshadows used for this look were $1.99 each? Penny, a gorgeous pink/coral, is such a beautiful color that will work for both the eyes and cheeks. In fact, it’s a dupe for Mac’s Expensive Pink ($14.50). If you’re going out tonight, I highly recommend stopping by your local drugstore and checking out the Wet n Wild eyeshadow singles.
