Q:Stumbled across your blog through the Bioderma tag - it's great! I just wanted to say hi because I am currently applying to pharmacy school, and I, too, am obsessed with makeup!
No way-that’s so awesome!

Q:Did you ever go to a make up artistry school? Or are you just self taught? I was just thinking how talented you were but don't remember ever seeing anything about you going to school for make up. They just opened up a make up artistry school here where I live and was thinking about attending next summer.
Hello, Jamie! No, I have never gone to makeup school. Everything I know I learned by watching others and experimenting on my own. It’s something I’ve always played around with, even before I knew how to read. When I was younger, I didn’t want to go to college but to cosmetology school instead. My mother told me I was crazy. So instead, I studied my butt of in college and graduated with a degree in Biology. After graduation, I got accepted to a pharmacy school in California, and now I’m almost done with my doctorate degree. Although I know God has allowed me to get this far for a reason, I sometimes cannot help but wonder what my life would have been like had I gone to cosmetology school instead. Makeup and anything beauty related is my real passion. Once I graduate in a year, I plan on going to a makeup artistry school and taking some classes. In a way, I’m going backwards, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.
Should you enroll in the class? YES YES YES! I think you are fabulous with makeup already, and your skills will only get better. I think it will open doors for you. Plus you do photography already, right? You can do someone’s makeup and take their picture! A one man show! Besides, if you enroll in the school you’ll be eligible to get pro discounts on the makeup brands you love. And that’s a big bonus! :)
Q:How do you stay so beautiful, with a slim fijure and glowing skin?
Thank you so much for the sweet compliment! But to be honest, I really don’t have a secret to my figure. In fact, I eat really bad. It’s all genetics, I guess. And as far as my skin, I use a good foundation with a dewy finish (my current favorite is Laura Mercier’s Silk Creme Foundation) and always apply moisturizer before I go to bed and after I wash my face in the morning.
Q:What camera do you use? Your photos are amazing!
Thank you! I use a Canon Power Shot SD1400. It’s a simple camera, but it takes really stunning photos. I also always use natural light and never the flash.
Q:Hey Flor! its Whitney. I stepped out of the Tumblr world for a bit, but I have a two part question for ya. What do you think about the True Match foundation by L'oreal? I recently purchased it, but I wanted to know your thoughts. Also in your opinion what is the best drug store brand when it comes to foundation/concealer? Thanks so much:)
Hi Whitney!
To be honest, I’ve never tried the True Match Foundation by L’oreal. I try to stay away from drugstore foundations, as most of them don’t seem to do the trick. There are two drugstore foundations that I do like and those are Revlon’s Color Stay (in both the oil-free and moisturizing formulas) and Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Foundation.
I have repurchased Revlon’s Color Stay in the past, and it is part of my makeup kit. Most recently, I tried Nuetrogena’s Healthy Skin Foundation and I fell in love! It is perfect if you have dry skin. It is supposed to be the drugstore version of Nars Sheer Glow, but I actually prefer it over my Nars!
As far as concealers, I haven’t had any luck finding good ones at the drugstore. I hear Revlon has some pretty decent stick concealers, but I can’t vouch for those. I have also heard amazing things about Sonia Kashuk’s Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette, so you might want to check those out next time you’re at Target.
Q:Hi Flor! What nighttime moisturizer would you recommend for dry skin? Thank you in advance :)
Hello friend! Here are the moisturizers I’m currently loving for my Sahara Desert dry skin [I’m not even exaggerating]:

1. Celestial by Lush
2. Hazelnut Vitamin E White Tea Face Cream
3. Korres Wild Rose Moisturizer
The first two are definitely award winners in my book. I use Celestial every night before bed, and my face still feels moisturized when I wake up the next morning. The Balm skincare products are so underrated. I have been blown away by all of their products I have tried so far, especially this hazelnut cream. It glides on so smoothly and leaves your face feeling super quenched. I was lucky enough to find mine at TJ Maxx, but I have also seen them at Marshall’s. Grab one if you ever spot one!
Q:Flor! I never got to thank you for your liquid foundation recommendation. I've been using Revlon's ColorStay and it's the bomb. :) Thanks for taking the time out to help a girl in beauty crisis!
It’s my pleasure! :)
Q:What do you do to stay fit? You always look so toned and trim!
Well, thank you so much for the compliment! To be honest, I don’t work out. But it’s something I really want to get into :)
